My report card for the Boise St – Colorado St game is a 50-50 special. Or a “C”.
Offense
I didn’t think Boise State would turn it over vs Colorado St and they didn’t other than 1 interception. Boise St. had opportunities to fumble more than that but covered up well a few times. I thought a fast start was important because CSU had outscored their opponents by like 40 points. Boise State was up 17-0 before CSU got a first down. I thought Boise St needed to establish a ground game. Nope. Boise St. used big plays and then gouged them with big pass/run plays. Grinding it out was not needed.
Defense
I didn’t think much about CSU run game and was more concerned with WR Rashard Higgins. I was right and wrong. Higgins wasn’t a factor and didn’t score a TD. He will end his career with 0 TD’s vs Boise St. But, the CSU offense was terrible with really poor QB play with 14 completions for only 151 yards and 2 interceptions.
Final Score
I was way off predicting a 28-14 win. The final score was 41-10. Time to go back to blow out predictions.
