Boise State Hosts 2016 Spring Game Saturday
BOISE, Idaho – Boise State football will hold its 2016 Spring Game Saturday at 5 p.m. at Albertsons Stadium. This year’s scrimmage will feature an Offense vs. Defense format in which the sides will be awarded points based on production and pre-determined achievements.
The Pre Scrimmage Show starts at 4pm on 93.1 fm with Dave Harbison, Paul J Schneider and Jeff Caves. Bob Behler will have the scrimmage broadcast starting at 5pm with Donte Deayon, Darian Thompson, Marcus Henry and Tyler Shoemaker adding color.
Tickets to the Spring Game are only $10. All tickets are general admission and can be purchased at the Boise State Athletic Ticket Office day of game, or ahead of time online at BroncoSports.com/tickets. Fans can also receive a discounted ticket to the Spring Game by bringing a can of non-perishable food to the Idaho Food Bank.

Complimentary parking on behalf of Boise State Athletics will be available for Spring Game attendees in the Albertsons Stadium East Lot and Lincoln Garage (located across the street from the Student Union Building). The stadium West Lot is reserved for Optimist Youth Sign Ups and Stueckle Sky Center guests.
Fans are advised to plan to arrive to Albertsons Stadium early and avoid Broadway between Albertsons Stadium and Dona Larsen Park due to the bridge closure. Stueckle Sky Center will open at 3 p.m. with main stadium gates opening at 4 p.m. The Fan Zone in Hall of Fame Plaza will open at 3 p.m. and include “Bronco Girl” Beth Miller and her horse, Shyann, along with NASCAR K&N Pro Series West driver and Boise State sophomore Hannah Newhouse and her Boise State race cars. Fans can also pick up 2016 Boise State Football Spring Game schedule posters and the 2015 season recap DVD presented by Milk Victory.
The Bronco Walk is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. from Caven-Williams Indoor, making its way around Albertsons Stadium to the entrance of the Bleymaier Football Complex. The Spring Game will also feature a pregame recognition of former head coach and athletic director Lyle Smith, the Father of Boise State Football, who celebrated his 100th birthday on March 17.
The scrimmage will feature a Bronco offense helmed a trio of quarterbacks in 2015 Mountain West Freshman of the Year Brett Rypien, Ryan Finley and Tommy Stuart, and powered by All-Mountain West running back Jeremy McNichols, who rushed for 1,337 yards and scored 26 touchdowns (20 rush, six receiving), tied for second in the country. All-Mountain West selection Thomas Sperbeck (conference-best 88 receptions and 1,412 yards in addition to eight touchdown catches) and Chaz Anderson (42 catches, 578 yards, three touchdowns) return to lead the Bronco wide-receiver corps while All-Mountain West tight end Jake Roh (33 catches, 357 yards, one touchdown) leads an all-new group of tight ends.
On the defensive side, linebacker Ben Weaver, the team’s top tackler last season with 68 (34 solo), heads up a group that includes All-Mountain West honorable mention Tanner Vallejo (57 tackles, 8.0 tackles-for-loss in 2015), Joey Martarano (53 tackles, 2.5 TFL, one interception) and Darren Lee (20 tackles, one interception).
Cornerback Jonathan Moxey (two interceptions, 10 pass breakups) and safety Chanceller James (55 tackles, 5.0 TFL, 3.0 sacks, one interception) lead the secondary while up front, a group that includes Sam McCaskill (17 tackles, 1.5 TFL in 2015), Jabril Frazier (17 tackles, 4.0 TFL, 2.5 sacks) and Elliot Hoyte (13 tackles, 1.5 TFL) leads the defensive line.
