MW Releases Schedule for Friday Games
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West, in conjunction with its national television partners, released the league’s 2016 non-Saturday game schedule, Monday.
Boise State is featured in five non-Saturday tilts, two of which – BYU and UNLV – were announced in March.
“Playing under the lights on national television is a tremendous opportunity for Boise State,” Director of Athletics Curt Apsey said. “Our football team has embraced this, and we need Bronco Nation behind us.
“Half of our home schedule has been announced, and we anticipate the other three games will also be played at night. With the eyes of college football fans throughout the country tuned in to watch Boise State, we hope every seat in Albertsons Stadium is filled as we showcase to a national audience our football program, our University, our city and the best fans in college football.”
The complete list of non-Saturday games for Boise State can be found below, with each slated for a national broadcast on either ESPN, ESPN2 or CBS Sports Network:
Friday, Oct. 7 – @ New Mexico (7 p.m.; CBS Sports Network)
Thursday, Oct. 20 – BYU (8:15 p.m.; ESPN)
Friday, Nov. 4 – San Jose State (8:15 p.m.; ESPN2)
Friday, Nov. 18 – UNLV (7 or 7:30 p.m.; ESPN2)
Friday, Nov. 25 – @ Air Force (1:30 p.m. CBS Sports Network)
The five regular-season non-Saturday games are one fewer than the Broncos played in 2015, and the three such home games equals the number played last year at Albertsons Stadium.
Broadcast details for Boise State’s remaining seven games will be announced in the near future.
The 2016 campaign and its build-up will be marked by a celebration of 30 Years on The Blue for Boise State Football. Leading up to the Broncos’ home opener against Washington State (Sept. 10), Boise State will look back on some of the top games, moments, teams and players from the past 30 years on The Blue.
During the season, the Broncos will honor the greatest players to hit The Blue, in addition to recognizing the Fiesta Bowl-champion 2006 team on the 10th anniversary of its historic, undefeated season.
