We all know that Boise State needs another playmaker on offense. I suggested it be Grant Hedrick and it had to be him running the ball. I just don’t see any other options. If there is a player ready to go prime time I am sure he would be out there. There is no RB Aaron Baltazar on the bench. No other WR or TE at this point is going to make a difference. That could change but not for now. So, the risk is high but so is the reward. Hedrick could be hurt and miss a game or two or the rest of the season but it may not matter. If he doesn’t carry the ball 16x, Boise State will not win as much. Same with Ajayi. Harsin said they need to ride him like a horse. I don’t see much choice not too. This team has limited weapons but they are better than most in the MWC. If the dynamic duo stays healthy I see no reason Boise St can’t win the MWC. If one of them goes down for a game or more, all bets are off. This becomes a defensive oriented team with little firepower.
Kinda like next season may look.
So, I think the coaches are doing the right thing by calling Hedrick’s number when they need to make things happen and not when the risk is too high. They don’t have many options.
